SMBC Myanmar seeks to serve the growing needs of our clients expanding in the country. Today, we continue to work closely with Kanbawza Bank (since 2012) to expand our offering in the country.

Our presence in Myanmar was first established as a representative office in Yangon in 1996, and we were one of the first foreign banks to open a branch there in 2014. Our Thilawa Front Office was opened in July 2016 to help our clients leverage the opportunities in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone.
