Organizational Revision of SMBC

TOKYO, July 2, 2012 --- Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC, President: Takeshi Kunibe) announced today a revision of its organizational structure.

In support of SMBC’s strategy of expansion in its overseas business, SMBC is strengthening its business control infrastructure. As part of this initiative, SMBC has established a new Legal and Compliance Department, Europe Division within the Planning Department, Europe Division.

The establishment of this department will further enhance SMBC’s compliance management within the EMEA region.
