Opening of SMBC Dubai Branch

 

 

TOKYO, March 19, 2007 --- Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC, President: Masayuki OKU) announces that it opened its Dubai Branch today at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) located in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. SMBC has become the first Japanese commercial bank to establish a branch in the DIFC.

 

Dubai has traditionally been a logistical centre of the Middle East , and a number of international financial institutions have recently established operations there.  The Dubai branch will be staffed by experts on trade and project finance as well as corporate finance, thereby providing high quality solutions to meet the various financial needs of its customers in the Middle East .
