Commencement of Operation of Hanoi Branch

 

TOKYO , December, 22, 2008---Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC, President: Masayuki Oku) announced today the commencement of business on December 22, 2008, of its Hanoi Branch in Vietnam .  

 

In addition to the Ho Chi Minh City Branch, which commenced business in 2006, and network and services of local Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank, whom we signed a business and capital alliance agreement with in 2007, the opening of the Hanoi Branch will enable SMBC to meet wider needs of its customers. (The Hanoi Representative Office will be closed later.)
