Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Business Cooperation

TOKYO, September 21, 2010---Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC, President: Masayuki Oku) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on September 17, 2010, with Banco de Bogota, the second largest bank in Colombia.

The MOU sets out a framework for cooperation to further the interests of both financial institutions by co-developing potential business areas, such as project finance in the Andean region.

Further, the partnership will enable SMBC to enhance customer support by leveraging Banco de Bogota’s business network in the region as well as expand the business of SMBC’s Bogota Representative Office which was established on September 1^st, 2010.
